Where are we?..

Marseillette, Carcassonne

The Aude (Dept 11)

Languedoc

France and the Languedoc-Roussillon

A romantics dream, from fine wine to aromatic cheeses, France just seems to have it all. This map of the regions of France will put where we are into perspective. The Blue bit

So you can see there is no need to worry about having enough sunshine hours in the day. Next to the Med the Languedoc -Rou ssillon has the more sun than the rest of France.

Ideal for a small hotel or for that active outdoor family with a thirst for sun.

The Aude Department 11
As you can see you are very close to the Med, Narbonne is closest to the sea and spreads its residential arms along its water front. The green line on this map is the Canal du Midi, it to eventually ends up in the Med as one might expect.

Carcassonne is about 60 minutes inland and if you are traveling from the Med along the picturesque Canal du Midi then you will have come across a number of villages. Trebes is one of the bases from which the Canal boats leave and is just a few minutes from Marseillette.

Marseillette Village

The Red and Yellow line on the bottom of the map is the "autoroute du sud" which passes Carcassonne and Trebes which is on the left of the picture.

If you follow the D610 you will eventually come to Marseillette which is north of Capendu on the map.

As you can see the Canal du Midi (to the north) and the River Aude (to the south) flow on either side of the village.
